Hello and WELCOME! I love connecting with people, learning about different cultures and how it shapes people’s views about special needs around the world. In this regard, I've really tried to use my professional skills in as many places as I can, to educate parents and travellers about ABA, spreading autism awareness, and discussing human behaviours in general.
Through this website, I hope to share my experiences and provide a resource for families and fellow ABA practitioners alike.

Hometown: Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Practicing ABA since: April 2009

Humble beginnings: During my undergrad, I studied to be a music therapist. After graduation, I applied for a 1-year working holiday visa to Ireland, an experience that cemented my love for (mostly solo) travel. Back in Toronto, I decided to pursue further education to acquire more skills to be a music therapist, with a focus on the “therapy” part. I enrolled in a 1-year post graduate course called Autism and Behavioural Sciences. As I learned more about behavioural principles and how human behaviours are formed and shaped, I became completely engrossed in this field of study. After graduation, I worked part-time job as a social skills worker at the Geneva Centre for Autism in Toronto, and it all progressed from there!

(fun fact: I played violin during my music years at Laurier.)

Favourite part of being a Behavioural Therapist: I love teaching and empowering all my Learners to be more independent and fostering good habits - but improving functional communication to non-verbal and pre-verbal Learners, and providing excellent parent training/coaching are my passions.

Which is better, freelance or working in an agency?: Both have their pros and cons! Freelance work have allowed me to make my own schedule and agreement directly with the family, while being a part of an ABA agency allowed for constant mentoring, support, and sharing of ideas from co-workers, which has helped me become a better behaviour therapist!

Are you Board Certified? I am not currently a Board Certified Behaviour Analyst  (BCBA) but am receiving regular mentorship from a dedicated BCBA-D in the UK. Finding the right person who is confidant, knowledgeable, and willing to work with the family's individual needs, regardless of certification, is the most important factor to a successful behaviour program!

What languages can you speak?
